I Have The Right To
Empowering Girls to Navigate the Real and Digital World
This interactive three-hour workshop is designed to give educators the tools and strategies they need to support girls in building confidence, setting boundaries, and developing healthy relationships both in-person and online. As young people spend increasing amounts of time in digital spaces, it is essential to understand the realities of their online lives, including social pressures, peer dynamics, and the lasting impact of what they share and engage with.
In this session, educators will explore how the skills students practice in the classroom, such as empathy, communication, and respect, can be translated into the digital world to help girls protect themselves, stand up for themselves and their peers, and navigate online interactions safely.
Through real-world scenarios, reflection, and practical application, participants will learn to foster a culture where students feel empowered to speak up, look out for one another, and trust that the adults and systems around them will respond with integrity. This workshop emphasizes the connection between offline and online experiences, providing educators with actionable strategies to help girls thrive in all aspects of their social and digital lives while cultivating resilience, confidence, and thoughtful decision-making.

Educating for an Uncertain Future: Empowering Students with Climate Action & Systems Thinking with the Institute for Global Learning
In an era increasingly impacted by climate change, schools are uniquely positioned to prepare students not just to understand complex environmental challenges but to act on them with agency, resilience, and strategic adaptation. This interactive three-hour workshop draws from a new research study from the Institute for Global Learning and the Klingenstein Center at Columbia University involving over 100 schools to explore how innovative educators are equipping and empowering students to engage meaningfully with climate issues.
Participants will examine the connections between student climate anxiety, teacher motivation, and school culture, and why these dynamics are central to meaningful learning, wellbeing, and sustained engagement. Through real-world case studies from diverse schools, grade levels, and disciplines, the session highlights how educators are designing learning experiences that build climate literacy, civic agency, and systems thinking, while fostering student ownership and real-world impact through curriculum, programs, and community partnerships.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a research-informed, competency-based framework for preparing students as informed and capable citizens in the era of climate change, along with a practical set of design strategies that can be immediately adapted across curricula, professional learning, student engagement, and assessment. Drawing inspiration from multiple school examples, participants will also gain clarity on how to envision and advance their own school as a climate-ready learning community prepared for the social, political, and ecological realities of a changing world.
Whether your school is just beginning to explore climate education or seeking ways to deepen and systematize your work, this workshop will leave you equipped to strategically design learning experiences that empower students to understand complexity, act with purpose, and contribute to a more just and sustainable future.

When Good Grades Aren’t Enough: Designing Learning Systems That Build Agency, Not Anxiety with Miss Porter’s School
Girls and young women often experience school as a space where perfectionism, overachievement, and fear of failure are quietly rewarded—even when those patterns undermine confidence, risk-taking, and authentic learning. This 3-hour pre-conference workshop explores the ways that changes at both the systems level and classroom level can interrupt these dynamics. Drawing on Miss Porter’s School’s ongoing work with competency-based mastery learning, student-led conferencing, and shifts in assessment practices, participants will learn about ways to enhance student ownership of the learning process, which can reduce stress and strengthen academic integrity and self-efficacy. The workshop will also explore how emerging tools, including AI, further underscore the need for clear expectations and meaningful assessment—without centering surveillance or compliance. Participants will leave with practical tools to support girls’ learning, agency, and well-being.

Future Strategic Planning –Integrating Economic, Market and Educational Factors for Impact with The 5Rs Partnership + Rational Partners
Most schools now undertake for compliance and other purposes a Strategic Plan (and others including marketing and master plans!) but NOT an actual strategy that widely impacts, unifies identity, trajectory, and creates comparative advantage.
The diverse imperatives of our times require a fresh look at current strategic planning processes in girls’ schools that so often underwhelm in terms of educational and reputational impacts and overwhelm school communities in terms of process and complexity.
More than ever, girls’ schools need a fresh conceptualisation and process for strategic planning -- one that brings together the nexus of institutional needs, resource allocation, and market preferences to secure institutional sustainability and growth.
For choice based, competitive contexts, we will contend that ICGS schools consider a new strategy process that impacts jointly on sustainability (economics), comparative positioning, and reputation within a single strategy process.
This workshop will uniquely challenge school leaders and Trustees current approaches and shortfalls in outputs we observe being delivered by current strategic planning in schools and school systems globally and outline a new pathway.

Inspiring Investment: Advancement, Alumnae Engagement, and the Financial Future of Girls’ Schools
Independent girls’ schools are navigating an increasingly complex landscape—and this is especially true for Catholic schools. Rising costs, challenging enrollment patterns, and growing expectations from families are challenging every leader. This interactive three-hour workshop explores how schools can build a sustainable financial future by strengthening advancement programs, deepening alumnae engagement, and embracing the full “business of running a school” with clarity and confidence.
This session is relevant for presidents, principals, deputy and aspiring heads, and advancement teams at girls’ schools as well as board members. This workshop is open to all; we will have a specific lens on Catholic girls’ schools as we examine what drives philanthropic investment today, from the basics of Annual Fund participation to major gifts and ultimately, a planned estate gift. Participants will explore how to engage alumnae across generations, activate volunteers and boards, and create a culture where involvement inspires investment.
The workshop will also address the intersection of advancement and school leadership, including how heads of school, trustees, and advancement teams align around financial sustainability, and make strategic decisions that balance mission and margin.
This three-hour workshop will be broken into three sections with specific Q & A time devoted to each:

A strategic financial framework that aligns tuition and advancement revenue with increasing operational costs, investment priorities, and the need to offer competitive compensation to attract and retain exceptional faculty and staff

Targeted strategies to increase alumnae participation amongst different generations and moving donors along the continuum from Annual Fund to major gifts and planned gifts.

An integrated advancement strategy that strengthens annual fund performance, builds a disciplined major gifts pipeline, launches or expands planned giving efforts, and specific strategies to equip boards and volunteers to serve as active partners in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Designed for educators and leaders who want to bring purpose-driven learning and leadership development back to their campuses, the Shineologist Certification offers a deep, reflective start to your Global Forum experience. Over three days, participants explore the SHINE philosophy through hands-on practice, storytelling, and guided self-discovery—learning how to implement Shine tools and experiences that help students and adults understand who they are, what they care about, and how they can contribute meaningfully to their community.
This intensive equips participants to introduce Shine’s signature practices in their own schools, including Shine Experiences, Points of Intersection, Life Maps, and the SHINE framework. You will leave with practical tools to build programs that nurture self-awareness, confidence, and connection—hallmarks of powerful girls’ school environments.
