Fewer than 1 in 4 girls see being a leader as very important – and 66% believe that speaking their mind will make them unlikeable. The International Coalition of Girls’ Schools partners with Lean In Girls to change that.

About Lean In Girls

From an early age, girls begin to internalize limiting stereotypes about what they can achieve. Lean In Girls is a free leadership program designed to help girls ages 11–15 build confidence, use their voice, and see themselves as leaders in a world that often tells them they’re not.

Through a combination of strength-building activities and real discussions about the barriers girls face, the program encourages participants to embrace their leadership strengths and challenge limiting stereotypes. Students develop tools to recognize bias, advocate for themselves and others, and approach setbacks as opportunities for growth.
